I bought an extra controller for my ps3 about a week after I bought my ps3, I decided it would be worth having to make the ps3 more useful and I was really really right.
These controllers are absolutely one hundred percent brilliant in every way. There so light, the charge lasts what seems like forever and their so easy to use. The new system for the front buttons on these controllers is great, it makes them easier to control and much better for light use. The analog buttons are as great if not greater than they were on the old controllers, they feel natural and comfortable in your hand.
The system for using more than one controller on the ps3 is perfect, just press the PS button and you can assign the controller to whichever level you like, 1,2,3 or 4.
Even if you dont play with other people its great to have a second controller so you can always have one on charge while your playing so you never have to play with the controller on a wire.
So, if you like playing games with other people this controller is the oerfect second controller to buy and if your on your own its still great to have the second controller. The price tage seems reasonable to me for the extra fun you can have from this. 35 pounds is not money wasted on something this useful! Get yourself one and you wont regret it!
An old idea? August 10, 2008 1 out of 48 found this review helpful
The PS3 dualshock controller is old news, as i just found out that even the PS1 had sixais, and now sony should be even more worried, because microsoft is also developing a sixais 360 controller! so ps3 controllers arnt so special anymore. =)=)=)!
Such an Improvement! August 5, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I gave myself the choice to buy a Dualshock 3 or a game, and to be honest i was torn between it, i mean c'mon 40 for a control pad that just has the rumble feature added to it!
But i made the choice to get a Dualshock 3 and i admit i was slightly dissapointed with it at first, until i tried playing a game with the Sixaxis again, that is.
There is such a mega difference with fun in games with the Dualshock 3, i adore the controller now! i could not play with the Sixaxis ever again!
There a plenty of noticable differences:
It has rumble (obviously)
It is heavier, but not dramitically heavier, it makes the control feel much better and as others say not as cheap.
It has different plastic case, the Sixaxis is all shiny and slippery while the Dualshock 3 has a less shiny case and is much more firm to hold, its a small difference but it makes the control pad a hell of alot better!
The analog sticks are much easier to press in, a little push and it will go in.
The L2 and R2 buttons are slightly more inwards then the Sixaxis and they feel harder to push in, which feels much better in my opinion.
What can i say about the Dualshock 3? Well i can not play on my PS3 without it now! if you have a choice between a game and a Dualshock 3, absolutely go for the Dualshock, its a small difference but makes the PS3 just that much better to play on!
Buy one now!
MUST HAVE FOR A PS3 OWNER! August 1, 2008 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
This controller is fantastic and it is a good feeling to be able to get feedback when firing guns or being shot at. I just happened to get MGS4 at around the same time and was so pleased i had brought this. You must buy this if you own a PS3!
Now that feel better July 30, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The Sixaxis controller always felt too light and detached from the game play. The Dualshock 3 feels sturdier and the rumble brings back an element of feedback. A worthy replacement for the stock PS3 controllers.
