5 out of 5 stars The Return of the Prince   January 4, 2009

I am a huge fan of the Prince after "sands of time" but somehow never really got into the other two games. This, however, is ,as they say, right up my street. Beautiful, plays well and very addictive. Love it 5 stars

3 out of 5 stars Urgent notice!!!   January 3, 2009

well they expect that I dunno a boy's gone buyed this game then they realise that their thumb is'nt strong enough to press the square button repeatedly. Well this happened to me with that rock monster I was pressing repeatedly on that square button and my face was red lost every time. That wrecked the whole experience to me I mean this was different to all my other games the prince was funny and way better than the last one. Oh and one other thing that annoyed me why do you have to collect these light seeds to move onto a different power I was jumping, crawling across roofs, flying of ledges to collect 353 light seeds that took all of my day i wish their was a cheat that you could just instantly collect all the light seeds but no that would be cheating then you could instantly get a trophy with it. Last thing Graphics terrible should of been imported to the Wii Or a PC their rubbish to except for Chrysis anyway im getting of the point. Why do all these hard complicated games always when you end them you get a gold trophy. On the easy ones you get a bronze at the most its as if they no this will annoy you in every way. Right goodbye prince of persia hello little big planet that'll keep me more entertained than this!

2 out of 5 stars Prince of Persia   January 2, 2009

I've never written a review before, but was so disappointed in this game I felt I should! If you are a fan of the PS2 PoP games, don't expect something similar. Admittedly I have only played the game for about 2 hours so far but it is just so repetitive - you just seem to do the same thing over and over again. There's also hardly any fighting in this, which was a big part of the PS2 games. The graphics are amazing as is the prince's agility but I don't rate this compared to the old ones. My other half is similarly miffed by it - we were both really looking forward to this one :(

3 out of 5 stars Awsome Graphics / Pitty about the Game Play   January 1, 2009

After reading the Rave reviews on this game, i could not wait to get my hands on this game. I absolutely loved the original and the ones on PS2.

I am sure you must have read all about the actual game so I will keep it brief. The graphics are fantastic. The attention to detail is unreal. But its the gameplay where things go wrong. I liked the idea of another character helping you out, hence you dont Die. GREAT! I wish i had this helper in the PRINCE OF PERSIA: SANDS OF TIME on PS2 where you have the badies coming out from left , right and centre. But in this PS3 version there are no enemies except for the one that come right at the end of a level.
Untill you get to the end of the level ,levels are so mundane, boring and simply NOT INTELLEGENT. You simply walk through to end of the level without Any Puzzle factor involved.
This was repeated over and over again for at least 5 to six times when I finally decided to give up on the game.
It might get better at the later stage but this is how its like in the beginning.
Sorry but I prefer the PS2 verions which were far too superior then this version.
Hence I give this game 3 Stars.
Hope you find it usefull

5 out of 5 stars Easy to Finish   December 28, 2008
0 out of 2 found this review helpful

Don't jump to conclusions the views aired in my title are not what they seem on the surface, by easy to finish I mean compelling to such a degree that you will struggle to stop until the end has come. Few games this year have waranted my writing a review based on them and this game certainly has captured the gamer in me to express my opinions.

Contrary to people's beliefs, challenge is persistent throughout the game it's just at key intervals so as to remove to constant pressure and tenseness that tends to prevail in to many games, but what makes this game great and unique, is the relationship between Elika and the prince which is so richly orchestrated in writing and cutscenes, that in it's own right gives PoP the title of one of the most compelling stories told this year (second only to metal gear) a sense of longing is replaced when the game ends, and what a way it ends, lets just say their is a great cliff hanger that gets my tastes buds tingling for the sequel.

Finally what makes PoP so great is that it has become part of a particular class of games this generation that prove that gaming is art and for that very reason provides the player with a level of dignity that makes all gamers playing it want to show it of to everyone, it's art is amazing, it's graphics are amazing, it's storytelling is amazing, the animations are amazing everything in this game is amazing, PoP places itself on the mantel of one of the greatest games this gen. Heres hoping that justice is done sales wise, as to many of these redefining games (Metal Gear Solid 4, LittleBigPlanet, Mirrors Edge, Heavenly Sword and more) that marry the often percieved opposing sides of art and culture to gaming aren't selling as well as many of these cliched titles that quite frankly need re-invention (Need for Speed Undercover).

Sadly this generation seems to be propelling the notion that money talks, as games like gears of war and Halo, though amazing games (even if they may lack the imaginative style and cultural prowess of the the re-defining titles mentioned) only reach mass market sales because the advertising budget is huge, please support these games and show the developers that the risk in delivering unique experiences is worth taking and will be rewarded, go out and buy Prince of Persia and you to shall feel compelled to write your own review, enjoy.
