What a great game for the beginner and Internediate January 4, 2009 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Never had a racing game before but after reading the reviews on Amazon with a selection of other games I went for this and haven't looked back. Easy to play and I have even won a few races which breeds confidence. I have managed to get rid of my intitial car and now have a cool sports car. Great fun and I am sure I can now tackle the other more difficult game. My view if you want to try a racing game - this is a great one to start with.
If graphics is enough for you December 19, 2008 This game has really amazing graphics, however, in my opinion, it is not worth buying. There is no sense of speed making it a really boring game comparing to games like Need For Speed, Motorstorm, etc. The game came included with my PS3, but since I got the other racing games, I have never picked it up again. If you want a race game which gets your adrenaline going, don't buy Gran Turismo.
Zzzzzzzzzzzz December 10, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Just woken up after playing this dreadfully dull game. What can I say. You'll have played all the tracks in a very short space of time, but wait, you can then race on the same tracks going the other way, whooo.
And if you think that's exciting, wait till you race round an oval track. That's right, you can keep your finger on the accelerator the whole way round and tap the left button occasionally! And then the right button when you race on it the other way round. YES!
Oh yeah, the graphics are amazing though.
Good, but not 5 star October 16, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I got this game with my PS3 40GB, and I thought it was astonishing. The graphics were really good, the cars were fast(after you unlocked them), the tracks were numerous, good looking, and fun. It was a big jump from my PS2 Pro Street. However; after a while, the cars started to look a bit plasticky, and when the cars crashed into a wall or another car, they didn't break, but stayed exactly the same. I thought this for thirty pounds was good, but I thought that the PS3 had more potential. I tried a few other racing games, such as Race Driver Grid, and they were awesome. The graphics looked better, and more realistic in Grid, and really crashed when I crashed. This game is now reduced to 18 pounds, but if you're looking for a really good car racing game for your PS3, get Grid, or wait for Midnight Club:Los Angeles to come out. All I gotta say is that this game is good for 18 quid, but it has more potential.
Hoped this helped.
A good sign of whats to come, October 13, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Grand Turismo 5 Prologue is a fantastic game, there is a large range of cars compared to most racing games (about 70 or so) and the best graphics i have ever seen in a racing game. The gameplay is also brilliant, car handling is hugely acurate, not the kind of game where you can constantly push everything to the max and still stick right in the middle of the track, but its certainly not gone too far, if makes you careful as you cruise around tracks, and makes sure you dont rush round ever corner sliding into walls. thers a real sence of acheivement when you finaly gain enough credits to get that new car too, and with the ferrari F2007 and the Citroen GT in there already thats a lot of saving to do. the game is constantly updated in order to bring you extra content, and has so far added a huge amount including: split-screen, GT-TV, and fantastic extra cars. the next update is rumored to include an optional damage setting for vehicals, which will no doubt be incredible. For 18 a cannot recomend GT5:P more, it will keep you entertained for a long time, and then when you've forgotten updates will drag you back in. i got this game soon after it came out and got fed up with it after a shot while but due to more updates i have got back into it and enjoy it very much. However i can say that some of the difficulty is quite extreme, with some standout hard challenges which require specific cars. overall i would recomend this game to anybody with a PS3 who enjoys good racing games, its not exactly a huge spend and it well worth your time of day. If needs be you can even download it straight to your console, if you've got the hard drive space!
