Hours of enjoyment December 27, 2008 This is an excellent purchase. highly recomended
takes a while to get used to the drums, but seasonsed GH fans will enjoy this better than GH1-3.
Absolutely Priceless!!! Great with my bro!!! December 27, 2008 I got myself Guitar hero 3 in September (08) and I quite enjoyed it and it was really fun having friends over playing with this. I didn't want rock band as I tried the drums at a friends house and they were awful, should have used saucepans instead!!! I got Guitar Hero World Tour at Christmas, simply AMAZING!!! Yes, it is a lot of money and 146 means a lot to me but it is worth it ONLY IF you have other people to play it with. Me and my brother play on it together as a band (We alternate between the drums and guitar). It is really fun and when more people come to our house, we have a proper band, with drums, guitar, bass ( got the other guitar from GH3) and mic. If you use it on your own mostly, then i suggest you get the guitar ONLY for 70. The guitar looks tons better than the GH3 guitar and the slider feature is quite tricky at first, but you get used to it. I would say that i am medium/hard level at the guitar. The drums are amazing, easy and quick to assemble. It does take a bit of time to get used to it. However, i have had this for 3 days now and am already on medium. I noticed once that if you keep the volume too low, you won't be able to hear much apart from the banging of the drums (which is just a bang); however, when crank the volume up, the sound of the drums and guitar is awsome. I can't comment on the microphone as I personally haven't used it yet (my friends have) as i am not much of a singer. The song choice is quite good and vast, my favourites are: What i've done - Linkin Park (music on Transforomers) Eye of the Tiger - Survivor (music on Rocky) Livin' on a Prayer - Bon Jovi. The experience and fun I have had has been priceless and this is DEFINATELY worth 146. I would suggest this to anyone who has someone else to play it with (friend or family) as it then gets really fun. Overall - Great Product - Very Fun!!!
Try it for yourself...... December 18, 2008 Bought this for my wife as a Christmas present, I had to buy myself a PS3 at the same time to play it on (but that's a different story!)
The drums are of surprisingly good quality and build, a LOT better than the Rock Band kit - you do have a bit of fear about hitting them too hard and occasionally your timing goes to wack which can be a little frustrating. Ignore the "I've been a drummer for 78 years" comments, it's a game - if the kit was of professional grade you would be paying a lot more!
The guitar is a great improvement on the previous GH models
And a bonus it that the instruments are wireless.
I can see us playing this a lot over Christmas - great game, great value
This + Rock Band 2 December 10, 2008 I love this game, its the best thing on the PS3! I got it on release day and spent every spare moment for the next few weeks drumming. I'm still not very good at it, but It's great fun. Even better when a few friends come round to play.
I also got hold of Rock Band 2 and it does work with the World tour instruments once it has downloaded a patch.
Amazing, but over hyped December 8, 2008 This game is over-hyped, it's very good anf fun to play, but the gameplay is a bit off, it takes a lot of calibration and a lot of the menu and song choice is at first confusing, but don't let that put you off, it is fun and some of the songs are immense, the career mode is great and far better than the old guitar hero 3 one, though not as good as Rock Band's.
