5 out of 5 stars EXCELLENT GAME!   December 28, 2008
This is a review from a casual gamer to a casual gamer!

I bought this game based on what I had experienced on the demo which, I thought was fantastic, it left me wanting more of the game. I finally got my hands on BC and started playing single player. I haven't yet completed the main game as I found the missions too repetitive, searching through houses in desperation to find the collectables and gold bars. However, like I said I haven't completed the game yet, I'm not even past the 3rd level so things might vary up from there.

So I tried multiplayer, and I was suprised - i was actually quite good at it. Infact it is one of the best multiplayer games I've ever had. You join a 'Gold Rush' game and aim to attack or defend the gold bars, I find that I perform at my best while attacking with recon (sniper) but when defending without a doubt its support (light machine gun). When the winners are announced the map changes, and rotates - there is never an end to the game just a sort of looping change of maps. When your playing online you gain points, these points go towards your rank and level you up to a top level of 25. (I'm currently on lvl 6 after 2 days of playing) Plus you get to unlock new weapons which, come bigger, better and stronger to help you win. Not forgetting the trophies, patches etc that come when you achieve something within the online games like a '6 kill streak' or '5 kills with a sniper rifle'.

In conclusion this game is really a hit, the multiplayer will certainly have you hooked for hours on end. Real good buy! I'm glad I bought it.

4 out of 5 stars the best fps out there, even cod 5   December 8, 2008
when i first played this on release it was so difficult, i would be killed everywhere without a clue. but after practice, you learn quickly and having now got th e highest rank, all weopons etc, i have learnt a great deal and still there is more to learn. #after playing this and onto cod5, cod5 dissapoints me immencely- i must enter via a door, walls can't be knocked down, trees can't be felled, this is restricting, not reality. cod5 instantly loses its appeal and feels outdated. why do i have to enter via a door, just blow a hole in the wall with a rocket, or use your c4, even a tank. also why do i have to follow a certain path, in reality i can go anywhere, anyhow- this is exactly what bfbc is like. you want to be stealthy, you want to snipe, or go gun-ho, yes you can. the satisfaction of knifing an enemy is great, those dogtags are ego status and there are so amny achievemnts to be had to keep you playing along time. true game modes is shocking, with only 2 at the mo compared to cod5 with its many. with these huge maps, why are we restricted to 12 on 12?
there are 5 classes to choose from, all have there pros and con's with neither dominant which is helps make gameplay more fun- all players being sniper wouldn't create good gaming afterall. some have complained about not being real, if one shot of a sniper rifle could kill, i'd bet we all would be one, which is why it has been done in this way, why assault have a self health jab to compensate the not so deadly gun. all the classes are infact the same in terms of which is best, its all up to what you like. to start your weopons and kit is basic, you get better spec on increasing your stats and rank. all those vehicles can intimidate with your miserly gun, but with experience you can easily blow them up or keep them at bay.
fav experiences is, as sniper sit in a bush, enemies walk pass without seeing me, kill them one by one- priceless. another- load a humvee with 5 c4's on ist body, drive to enemy area and jump out and create my own car bomb, instantly killing those nearby.
all i want is more game modes. incidently i haven't touched the single player, multiplayer is a must and gives makes gaming so much more fun.
miles better tahn cod5 except for the game modes. clan matches also is lacking which doesn't help.

5 out of 5 stars Didn't We Shoot These Guys Already ?   November 28, 2008
FPS with likeable characters, a healthy doze of humour and it is great fun to play.

5 out of 5 stars Best Multi-player EVER   November 18, 2008
This game is definately for people who thought COD4 was too 1 dimentional. Before the COD fanboys start gettin stroppy what I mean is that this is the first game that gives you almost complete freedom on both single and multi-player. If you like crazy running around in small, confined maps with guns blazing then yes no doubt COD4 is the king of that genre. But if your like me and prefer absolutely huge maps with the emphasis being on tactics and clever use of cover then buy this NOW. The single player is great but I haven't even completed it due to being hooked on the on-line play (the first game that has done this for me). From kneeling in a bush in full camo gear a mile away from the battle and sniping the enemy in the head to pushing through enemy lines to direct a mortar strike onto an unwitting sentries head this game has something for everyone. Even COD4 fans will be able to pick assault weapons and try a bit of up-close and personal combat, however the emphasis is definately on taking strategic decisions and helping your team-mates out to win the battle. Its been called arcadey, but as far as I can tell, this is the most realistic attempt at a warring battlefield ever to be released. Please buy now and play gold rush on harvest day, you won't be dissappointed.
