5 out of 5 stars Amazin game...must have for any fan of first person shooters   December 24, 2008
This is by far my favourite game on the Xbox 360. The graphics awesome...the actual detail of the gun is outstanding! There are plenty of missions to do and lots of guns to play with. You can do whatever you want really, if you like creeping around and sniping unsuspecting terroists you can do that, but if you prefer to blow the hell out of them with phosphorus, you can do that too! The co-op mode is decent as well (plus you get an extra man!). You can even change what gear you are wearing. A definate must have!

4 out of 5 stars good all round game - with faults   December 18, 2008
RSV cannot be compared to Call Of Duty because its a completely different game. CoD is more exciting - there are more guys and they are easier to kill, however Vegas is far more tactical and "stealthy". Unlike CoD, you can't run into a room straight away and obliterate anyone on the other side - you need to be strategic. Of course, there are stages when it can be compared to CoD easily and they are enormous amounts of fun. It does somethings better than CoD and some things worse...
Better - You can specify exactly what guns you want which you can't on CoD
You can do two player campaign mode
Worse - You can't do 2-4 player against each other
Overall, I think this is a technically better game than Call of Duty, but perhaps not as fun or as good online. Out of the two, either would be a brilliant buy.

4 out of 5 stars the best 2-player shooter in a LONG time   October 9, 2008

worth the cash by far! 20 for an addictive ultra action shooter. get in

3 out of 5 stars Huge Potential, doesn't quite deliver.   August 12, 2008
I must admit this game looked great, i enjoyed the first one so naturally thought this would be just as good but probably better.

Unfortunately i played this after playing COD4 and Bioshock, so the cartoony graphics did nothing for me, even irritating me at times. I dont understand why one team can develop amazing Photo realisic backgrounds and another can't?
Anyway getting away from that i was quite impresses with the squad control on the first level. The characters did as i asked and were very useful. From then on they become frustrating, considering Rainbow Six is all about the squad, why wont they do as you ask??
I spent countless times dying after i had asked a team member to go somewhere / do something and they wouldnt!!
Clearly its not all bad and there is a solid game underneath the flaws, i just feel the controls and AI could have done with an overhaul and it just needs some decent set pieces and a lick of polish to push it up with the big boys.
Get the first one before this one, this feels like a mediocre add on pack to a good game.

5 out of 5 stars Amazing   August 3, 2008
It seems to me that all the negative reviews are comparing this game to call of duty 4, and personally I think the gameplay differs enough for it to be in a class of its own.

I'll start with visuals first; they are very clear and it is by no means an average looking game, there are products on the market which do look better but the standard here is certainly good enough to live with.

The story is pretty vague, but then I havn't played the first one, apparently it attempts to mop up lose ends. Despite not really knowing exactly what was going on I managed to work out that essentially it boils down to, 'find and kill a terrorist', which is enough of an excuse for me to go hunt some bad guys.

Personally I think the cover system is by far the best I have ever seen, especially in a first person shooter. It zooms out into third person allowing you to blind fire and reap the rewards of a truly detailed character creation process. Another tactical aspect is squad control, allowing you to control your two man team with efficiency and ease; simply hit A and your men will go where you're pointing; the d-pad can be used for more detailed instructions such as clearing rooms and using grenades.

This game is built to reward the player, you gain experience doing literally anything, killing online, offline, split screen or terrorist hunt, all the while raising ranks and unlocking new equipment.

Online play has worked fine for me, and play has been smooth and incredibly fun, terrorist hunt mode with a friend is a great experience, and a friend can also drop right into the action to help you through the one player, slightly short, campaign. All online modes work well and all provide a perfect pick up and play asthetic.

Overall I think the game is amazing and although I havn't played the original and can't judge its similarity, it is a fun and solid game with cool tactical implementations. Online and offline are perfectly accomadated and as far as i'm concerned its up there with many other incredible Tom Clancy titles.
