Great fun December 29, 2008 This game is great fun and i would recomend it to anyone, its well worth the money. Graphics - the graphics are amazing one of the best ive come across on the PS3 so far, showing every little detail.
Gameplay - the gameplay is really good, you can free roam the city of LA which is great and chalenge any racers on the street you can find, there are several race modes and it never gets old.
Cars - There are lots of cars and bikes to choose from, starting with an old VW golf and going up to astin martins and very fast bikes. although you do have to unlock them so youll have to make do with the bottom range cars untill you have won enough races.
Multiplayer - This is the only thing wrong with this game and the reason i gave it 4 stars not 5. There is no multiplayer option, well not with someone in the same room as you anyway.
Over all - over all i would recomend this game to peolpe that are racing game fans and like me are looking for a Need for Speed type game as the new Need for speeds are terrible.
Probably the best racing game on all platforms December 22, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a fun arcade style street racing game.
As other people already pointed it out, it is not that easy in the beginning, but if you keep playing it you will get the hang of it and win races.
It may seem extremely difficult at first but keep on playing and you will be OK, in reality the difficulty level ensures a long play through time and there is so much else to do on the game, that if you are like me, you will enjoy this game for months to come.
Don't forget the Rockstargames Socialclub, link up your account and do the tasks in order to get exclusive stuff, like the Audi R8.
All in all, this game is way better than the price made me expect it to be, this is on the same level with GTA IV, not surprisingly.
In a way it is bad news for Sony, as I am unlikely to buy any othr games for a while, it will take a great deal of gaming to beat both games.

No Enjoyment To Be Had December 3, 2008 6 out of 12 found this review helpful
Believe me I really wanted to enjoy this game but just couldn't. That is the summing up in one sentence, games are made to enable people to enjoy themselves and I am afraid this game fails on most levels. Sure the graphics are very impressive I will give them that but the gameplay is awful. As someone had mentioned in a previous review there is just no realism to the game. I mean it quite obviously slips up right from the start when you find that from the outset your 25 year old VW Golf GTI can beat practically anything and that includes a modern day Skyline which in itself to an avid car fan like me is absurd. The other part of this game that contributes to its downfall is the repetitiveness. Yes I know many people will argue that there is only so much you can do with this type of game but this game is quite simply pitiful in this sense. You get a car, you race the car, you race again, you get money, you can buy a better car. Well so what when the first car you get can beat anything else into the ground anyway. I found this circular motion of gameplay so boring I couldn't have cared less about getting a better car because I didn't want to play it long enough. Now Rockstar are well known as the developer who created the simply sublime GTA IV but if were them I would be quite embarrassed to tell people that I made this game. That may be a harsh comment but when you remember that this game was at least 6 months overdue when it came out then there can be little sympathy. Ok if the game had benefitted from the extra development time then that would not be a fair comment but alas it hasn't. In conclusion this is a very weak game with little or no enjoyment to be had and if you are desperate to play a game where you race round the streets at ludicrous speeds use your copy of GTA IV cause that is a far superior game with a far greater dose of fun to be had.
i would wait for need for speed. November 21, 2008 1 out of 16 found this review helpful
what a waste of money this was. so un-realistic u can start with a old VW golf and beat a skyline easy. somethings not right there is it. i have sent it back after all of 20 kins playing on it and order the new need for speed.
