Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 is the latest title of the series and is published by Electronic Arts. It is a sports game based on golf as suggested by the title itself. This title has made some significant changes when compared to the previous one though it still lacks some features which are available in the basic game.
The game has great graphics and the faces look real. The main feature of the game is the True Aiming mechanic in which you don’t need to pinpoint a dot in order to aim but rather you are in control of a bigger area which your player is aiming its pretty good than aiming via a dot. The area resembles the area where your ball will drop once you hit it. The area will be small for a pro golfer and will be large for a newbie.
This game is more difficult than the previous ones and you will find yourself in bunkers more often. Even if you believe that you made a perfect shot, you will find yourself some yards away from the place which you were aiming. Sometimes you might even overshoot the target area by a fair distance and this game is a bit harder than the previous versions.
The visuals of the game are great and the golfers are also extremely detailed though the clothing looks flat at times but still the game has good graphics. One of the main features of the Playstation 3 version of the game is Motion Sensor Spin Control using the sixaxis controller. The sound effect is also good in the game and you will hear cheers from the crowd while playing the matches.
Tiger Woods 07 includes a much more enhanced career mode in which you need to practice the shots in order to master them. You can’t expect yourself to play like Mr. Woods from the beginning and so you need to take on the training challenges to improve your control over the shots and hence, to improve the performance and once you feel that you have mastered the shots, you take on the word tour to compete some of the best players around the world.
The game has a good soundtrack though you may find the announcements as repetitive but overall, the soundtrack is good and you will enjoy the cheers by the crowd during the match as voices are pretty clear in the game.
You can purchase all kinds of clothing form the shop in order to make your golfer look appealing and these include purchasing pants, shoes, shirts and hats. So, you can easily customize your player. You can also play the game online to compete players across the world.
At the end, it’s a nice game with improved gameplay and nice graphics with nice game modes and is worth a try for a golf fan!!
